Hakuba Happo One Ski Resort will resume operations of the lift connecting the base area to an elevation of approximately 1,200 meters for tourists.
This lift had suspended tourist operations since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, but with the increase in inbound tourism (foreign visitors to Japan), the aim is to attract winter tourists who do not ski or snowboard.
The "Kita One Quad Lift" is scheduled to reopen on December 21.
It connects Kita One Highland at an elevation of about 1,200 meters with the base area, allowing visitors to enjoy a 10-minute aerial stroll while taking in the snowy landscape. Both skiers and tourists can use this lift.
Kita One Highland also features a café, making it enjoyable even for those who do not ski. An event serving Japanese sake is planned for mid-January 2025, aimed at enhancing tourist content for both domestic and inbound visitors.
