The “Snow Corridor” of the Zao Echo Line is a stunning winter attraction where towering snow walls line the mountain road.
Located in the Zao Mountain Range, this scenic route connects Miyagi and Yamagata Prefectures.
Each spring, the road is cleared of snow, revealing massive snow walls that can reach heights of over 10 meters (33 feet).
Visitors can drive or walk along the route to experience this breathtaking natural spectacle, which typically lasts from late April to early May before the snow gradually melts away.
It was announced today that the road will reopen to the public April 25 this year, following its closure during the snow season.
